This download conveniently installs and launches the Mac OSX version of the Stanley Parable v1.4. You still need to have Half Life 2 installed to your computer. All you should need to do is open the.dmg and then open the launcher. If it's not working, check the readme.
Jan 9, 2014 - Looking into buying Stanley Parable (steam game) and running it on my MacMini running OS X 10.9. Quirky narrative adventure The Stanley Parable is now available for Mac users. Even better, the title is part of the Steam Holiday Sale. Galactic Cafe’s experiment is very brief, with branching paths and multiple endings.
Additions to v1.4 include: -Numerous bug fixes -Closed Captioning in English, French, German, Italian, Russian, Spanish and Turkish -Opening scene now skippable anytime throughout the scene -Updated Stanley's monitor to include text -Modified elevator to include arrows on the buttons -Updated keypad in boss's office to include screen -Converted all.wav files to.mp3 to significantly reduce file size Thank you to Collin Eddings for this remastered version of the game, and to Rory Sinclair for porting it to Mac! I've done some digging and as Valve has kindly decided to move some of the file locations since the latest version of the Stanley parable was released it means the 'run.sh' file needs modifying. You need to open the run.sh file in a text editor and scroll down a little to where the '#location of the binary' and change the line that says GAMEROOT='$HOME/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/$STEAMUSERID/half-life 2' to GAMEROOT='$HOME/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Half-life 2' This is as far as i have got, yes it now finds the hl2osx file but it still fails to launch and complains about not being able to find a loading background.vtf file. Which isnt in the folder it should be.
